Anson Greene: Moloney - 'Damage Control'

Anson Greene is a small time grifter who is first seen in cuffs, being dragged into a hospital emergency room to have treatment for an ankle that appears to be damaged following a traffic violation.

He breaks free from the arresting officer, takes his gun and then goes on a rampage in the hospital. He ends up, holed up in a holding ward for the criminally insane, with a police psychologist named Moloney (Peter Strauss) as one of his hostages.

Anson's luck - bad to start with, gets steadily worse as the police refuse to negotiate and everyone in the ward becomes increasingly stressed. It emerges through the course of the show that he has committed several murders, and that he is very unstable. His personality finally fractures when the hostage negotiators think that it's a good idea to put him in touch with his young daughter, whom he as not been allowed to see for several years.

Anson is not a character that you should love, but somehow you do.
