Jacob Hardy: The Outer Limits - "The Inheritors" 1999

Jacob is happily engaged, and about to be married when he is struck down and killed one night by a strange shooting star that appears from nowhere and strikes him in the head as he's on his way home with his fiance.

Things become very strange when tentacles protrude from the wound, and Jacob rises from the slab in the mortuary and takes off. The doctor who was performing his autopsy is left holding a strange piece of metal that he's taken from the wound in Jacob's head.

Jacob and two companions who have been stricken in the same manner then begin setting up a strange headquarters, and recruiting terminally sick people for purposes that seem very suspicious to the folks investigating the unusual occurrences.

Is Jacob a good guy, or is he sinister beyond the dreams of earth?
