Maximillian: Earth Angels, Unaired Pilot 2001

An angel is born to the earth in the middle of conflict. She is there to replace an angel who is gone missing under mysterious circumstances, and the eternal turf war between good and evil seems to be heating up. Lucas attempts to take the new angel as she goes to meet her earth brethren, and Nathan nearly kills Lucas while protecting her. The new angel, Rachel chose a beautiful form to reflect the beauty she saw in life, but is cautioned by Sarah about the attention it can attract-they are forbidden to make a life or take a life-they are only there for everything in between. We cant make a life, or take a life, were just here for everything else in between. Rachel asks if Maximillian follows the rules, and Sarah replies Technically. But he just finds other ways of getting what he wants, the human race is his battlefield. Hell set a guy up from the very beginning, maybe he had a father who beat him, a girl in school who humiliated him, a wife who left him his whole life is carefully arranged to lead up to one moment when hell cross paths with someone completely unsuspecting. And then the years of pent up anger and frustration build to a rage. Hes primed to do something he knows he shouldnt, and Maximillians guys are there to make sure hes in the right place at the wrong time. All they do is have to light the fuse and the bomb goes off.

Gregory and Maximillian meet to discuss the problem. Maximillian is brash, sarcastic, flamboyant and openly disparaging of the human race-they are selfish, immoral, greedy and t hey make his job so easy. He also goads Gregory with the fact that he has brought Antonio to his side by concentrating on his human failings. But there is more to the discussion, it is the basic tenant that humans are not worthy, and he is going to do everything he can to prove the God was wrong-even if it takes an eternity. Gregory agrees.

A girl is killed in the night and a black crow feather is laid on the corpse as a calling card of sorts-retaliation for the near fatal attack on Lucas in the park. They investigate the murder, and subsequently discover that the perp was a photographer that is stalking all the beautiful women that Rachel used as the models for her human form-a sure sign that Maximillian knows and is using this as a weapon against her.

Rachel is angry that Maximillian would her use tribute to the beauty of life in such a way and she goes to confront him. Maximillian reminds her that she has five senses, and they are going to tell her things-it would be a sin not to use them. Its apparent he can be persuasive, charming and funny when the need arises. Rachel doesnt fall for his seduction at the moment, but resists. He asks her You have no idea who youre dealing with, do you? Rachel tells him they would win, because they know the real truth: all souls matter-- even his.

Nathan and Lucas have crossed paths many times - Lucas runs Sai Woo Pan, a club where Wendy (played by Sandrine Holt) waits bar. A reformed crack head, Nathan is trying to convince her to go back to school, but Lucas is trying to lure Wendy back to the dark side. There are several arguments between them, and then finally Lucas almost succeeds with Wendy. He infuriates Nathan with a nasty jibe about the fact that he had that the girl and Nathan hadnt-They start fighting.

Sarah stabs Lucas in the back, and he dissolves into a murder of crows in flight. Her reason was she had already lost a brother and she didnt want to lose another. When Nathan asks what they should do, Sarah suggests they brace themselves.

Antonio informs Maximillian that Lucas is dead.
