Philip Padgett: The Burning Zone - "Hall of the Serpent" 1996

Philip Padgett is a man who has not only recovered from cancer, but due to a strange healing episode on the island of Delos, has become able to cure cancer himself with the aid of the god Aesclepius in the guise of an astral serpent. In exchange for the healing, Philip takes half the patient's wealth and tells them that his healing powers need to be replenished by sex.

Philip falls foul of the powers that be when he cures a young girl of her leukemia. She happens to be a relative of one of the team that goes to investigate.

The show has an implausible premise. Nick is very suave and competent as Philip, and gets to play with snakes too.
