Ignition is a fast moving action film about a high level conspiracy to defraud the American Armed Forces and the assassination of President of the United States in order to have a co-conspirator move into the White House.

Peter Scanlon is the newspaper reporter who is the ex-husband of the Federal Judge Faith Mettis. She is in charge of prosecuting a case in the federal courts that threatens to reveal the larger fraud.

Even though they are divorced, they still run in similar social circles and Peter is campaigning to regain Judge Mettis' favors. Though she fends off his advances, she still trusts him enough to rely on his judgement and asks his assistance with a critical piece of information.

Peter ends up betraying her trust, not from malicious intent but from his over-reaching ambition.

Notables: This is Nicks' first role in which he wears eyeglasses, and he is third billed despite the short amount of airtime his character receives.
