Mulder turned off his t.v and got up off his couch, he'd had enough of Christmas television and was ready, finally, to call it a night, or day, depending on whether or not one was a night owl or an early bird. He spent yet another Christmas alone, and though he could have gone to see Dana and William for the holidays, Mulder couldn't quite make himself show up on her door step looking pathetic and sad as he felt. She had Skinner now, things had changed between them, drastically. Skinner had made it clear that he was the man of the house, and that Mulder was only welcome when invited.
No, staying home and spending Christmas alone was his only option and he had done just that.
'Two am, and no gift from Santa in sight.'
Mulder flicked off the small lamp and went to his bedroom, he fell asleep as soon as his head hit the pillow.

Some time after he had dozed off, Mulder woke with a start, he sat up in bed and listened, wondering what it was that had make him wake up. 'There', in the living room, he could here a soft rustling, it was the sound of glass Christmas balls tinkling gently together. Very quietly, Mulder pulled the drawer of his night stand open and reach for his gun, drawing the weapon out, he flicked off the safety as he settled it comfortably in his hand. The war with the aliens was long over, the battle won by the human race, thanks largely to Alex Krycek who had delivered a workable vaccine to Scully, who then set about finding a way to administer it to the world's population without causing a wide spread panic. They had eventually put the vaccine into the populace's drinking water, rebel alien leaders world wide, doing their part for immunization. After that, it was a matter of months before the vaccine was converted to a deadly poison, killing all alien invaders, greys and rebels alike. Again, Krycek had played a large part in that scheme. Risking his life to poison rebel leaders on all the continents. So, with the consortium gone, and the aliens dead, Mulder wondered who it was sneaking into his apartment this time. He slowly pushed back the covers and got to his feet, there was only one way to find out.

"Freeze." Commanded Mulder.
The hunched over figure rummaging below his small, but brightly decorated Douglas fir tree quit moving. Hands went up in a surrendering posture and then "It's me, Mulder." whispered through the darkness.
Mulder recognized the voice immediately; sighing, he lowered his weapon. Fox reached out and flicked the light switch on, bathing both he and his visitor in dull, 60 watt light.
"What are you doing here Krycek?" Asked Mulder, his heart racing at just the sight of his former partner.
Alex stood up anxiety licked at his insides. He tucked his hands --both real and artificial -- into the front pockets of his jeans. The Russian smiled and Fox's heart skipped a beat. "I was just dropping off a gift for you." He said, indicating with his head the wrapped parcel below the tree.
"You couldn't have come at a normal time?" replied Mulder sarcastically.
"I wasn't sure if you wanted to see me again, after what happened last time." Alex said, a slight blush creeping over his cheekbones.
Mulder vividly remembered when the two of them met last; they'd started out fighting then finished the battle by fucking like bobcats.
Biting, hissing and scratching figuring prominently in the session.
For the entire week following his and Alex's marathon sex session every time Fox sat down, he thought of Alex Krycek.
"Actually, I've been wanting to see you again, I'm glad you showed up. Only you took your sweet time about it. Last time I saw you was two months ago." Mulder put his gun down and went to where his one time lover stood. "I liked what came out of our last meeting, how about you?"
Alex smiled and nodded, "Me too. But I wasn't sure if I'd be welcomed here again, or if our getting together was only a one time deal." Alex stepped up so that he and Fox were almost nose to nose then the Russian reached out and drew Mulder into a tight embrace; sighing audibly when the tight hug was returned. The two drew apart at the exact same moment and Fox whispered, "Come to bed Alex, and I'll give you a Christmas present." He leaned in and kissed the former agent gently on the lips. Then a few seconds later, he spun around on his heel and grabbed up Alex's right hand at the same time, he led the Russian back to his bedroom.
Once there, Mulder proceeded to make love to Alex, not fuck, but make love to. And this experience was nothing like the last time they'd been together and neither man minded.

With Alex cuddled close to his chest, Mulder asked his lover to stay, permently, and Alex, alone and lonely for far too long, said he would. His heavy heart was uddenly made light by the fact that he would finally have Fox Mulder the way he'd always wanted to. For years, Alex had dreamed of a loving, close relationship with the brilliant but anti-social FBI agent, but the fates would not allow it in the past.
But now, with no more lives on the line, the two of them just might have a chance. To Alex, this was Mulder's true Christmas gift; himself.
"Hmmmm?" Queried Alex, drawn from his thoughts when he realized that Fox was speaking to him.
"I asked you what was the present you brought me?"
"Scully's ova." Alex sighed with contentment. "I thought that maybe you and she might want a brother or sister for William." Alex shrugged, pleased that his conviction that Mulder loved only Scully was not correct.
"Well, I'm sure Scully will be happy, but as for me, I don't think she and I will be together anytime soon, so more children for me in the future is out. Walter Skinner is with Dana now." Mulder yawned and shut his eyes.
"Well, I consider it my good luck then," husked Alex, drawing Fox's left nipple into his mouth and sucking gently. He bit down harder and nipped at the brown flesh, Alex realized that Mulder wasn't responding to his quest to have another go around at sex. He released the small bud and smiled. He shut his eyes, suddenly very tired too. As dawn kissed the edges of the light midnight blue sky two men slept content within each other's arms, truly thankful that for the first time in a very long time they had a good Christmas.
The End
